An important part of the party is going to be the food, whether it is just cake and ice-cream or snack for the party bags to brings home. You ought to make sure the food that you’ll dish up is good for everyone to eat. Make sure to check for food allergies. It also should be pretty simple to make, just to make things less complicated.
If you are having you kiddie birthday party in your home, any kind of food you want to prepare is fair game. If you plan to have it some where else you need to take some things into consideration. If at a park, easy finger foods and snacks will probably perfect. If at a venue, probably ordered food like pizza or something for every one to enojoy together is a good call.
Although this might be a light snack for some of the guests they might continue to eat like it is more. So just make sure you have plenty to go around!
Don’t foget drinks. Usually a fun punch bowl is good, you can have an older sibling serve drinks if the kids are younger, or just do boxed drinks for easy clean up and portion control.
Also make sure there is plenty of desert for every one, if you buy the cake they usually will tell you how many it will serve, it helps! You can tell guests there are not seconds on desert, if it comes down to it. That is not a rude thing to do, especially if you have provided snacks as well.
For party food there are options on how you go about getting them. You can usually make things cheaper then buying unless it is chips or pretzels, obviously. Finger foods are easy to make, but if you have a budget for them, I would save yourself the hassle. Unless you love being in your kitchen and doing those things. If that is the case then get some help so it is not left completely up to you. It is also fun to cook in the kitchen with company.
There are also creative ways to have the guests make their foods… like cracker pizzas (cheese and pepperoni), or hot dogs and hamburgers… just fix a table with all the ingredients andlet them go for it. This is where I suggest outside eating, the mess does not enter your house, especially when ketchup, mustard, or even pizza sauce is at hand.
If you have left overs… too much left overs, you can always package it up to go home with the guests. Some people will actually appreciate it. If there happens to be tons of goodies left, I am sure your kids will not be disappointed seeing treats to go with their lunches or snacks in the following days! :0
A restaurant is going to be up to the specific place you have chosen. After you have picked the place, write down the questions you need answered about having a party there. Some times they will have all their information for a party on their website. Make sure you still have all the information from them you need, since you are paying for it and it will go smoothly. Now you will just have to pick the food for how many guests you are inviting.
Remember if it is your kids favorite place to keep in mind not to only order the food that he or she likes but food for every one. If you really arent sure of what to order, some restaurants will let you taste before you decide, doesn’t hurt to try if you really need help. Remember you are their customer and they want to make you happy and the party a success so you come back and possibly refer.
An important question to ask the place you have chosen is to see if there is a cake included, often there is. That can make things for you less complicated and some times for the price they should include a cake. If they don’t, do not over look that very important part, candles too. It is so easy to leave out the little things when you are taking care of so many details, large and small.
That is why my very most important suggestion is lists.
Even start with a list of what kind of foods to have and then let your birthday child help you decide. Make pros and cons, to help weed out too much work, or not enough in the budget. All in all the child just wants to celebrate his or her day, they are usually happy with what ever it ends up being. It’s sharing it with their friends and family that matters the most.
